Teaching is a new adventure each day, says Catherine Feniak, who became a teacher as a natural progression from volunteering with children and working as a teacher's assistant. "I've never left school!" she says.
Catherine is currently a principal and educator in an inner-city elementary school in Vancouver. She was a five-year major in special education at the University of British Columbia, and received her master's degree in education from the University of Lancaster, England.
Her areas of specialty include teaching children with special needs, inclusion of students with special needs, and instructional strategies to develop literacy skills.
Catherine likes to spend her free time with her husband, Bruce, cycling, traveling, reading, and visiting friends.
