Permissions Information and Requests
All of the material published by Stenhouse is copyrighted. Copyright is meant to protect the intellectual property of the authors and should, therefore, be taken seriously.
Stenhouse handles all permission requests pertaining to its material, except for:
-Books originally published by Pembroke Publishers, our Canadian distributor, and distributed through Stenhouse
-Books by NEFC (developers of The Responsive Classroom), distributed through Stenhouse
-Excerpts from other publications reprinted in our books with permission.
If you are unsure whether your use of our material is considered "Fair Use" or not, or whether it is covered by the "TEACH ACT" or not, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Below you will find information on how to request different types of permissions. We make every effort to grant reasonable requests and to keep our fees affordable.
Permission to Photocopy
If you are looking for permission to photocopy our material for academic or professional development purposes, you may apply through the Copyright Clearance Center
Permission to Reprint
If you would like permission to reprint our material in a forthcoming publication, please fill out this form
Permission pertaining to our Videos and DVDs

If you are interested in obtaining rights to translate, reprint, or distribute our material abroad, please email us at permissions@stenhouse.com
All other permission requests
Please send a detailed request to permissions@stenhouse.com. The more information you provide, the faster we can process your request. At a minimum, please be sure to include the following:
-Title of our work you wish to use and specific passage and/or page number(s)
-Context in which you wish to use the work
-Format in which you wish to use the work (print, electronic, video, etc)
-Number of people who will have access to the content
