Podcast: Donna Niday and Sarah Brown Wessling

In 2003, readers of Donna Niday’s Mentoring Across Boundaries were introduced to Sarah Wessling, an enthusiastic first-year teacher working with a veteran educator to refine her teaching and employ strategies to avoid burnout. Sarah was also featured on the cover of the first edition of Mentoring Beginning Teachers.

This April, Sarah received the 2010 National Teacher of the Year Award. Sarah blogged about the experience of receiving her honor from President Obama on the White House blog. Today, we’re excited to share a two-part interview with Sarah about her award, and the role of mentorship in education, conducted by her one-time teacher and mentor, Donna Niday.

In Part II of their conversation, Sarah talks about her upcoming year of "worthy learning and the importance of nurturing relationships.
