Monica Edinger
Monica has been fourth-grade chair, grade leader, and classroom teacher at The Dalton School in New York since 1983. She received her master's degrees from Teachers College at Columbia University in international education and instructional technology and computers and education.
Her involvement in children's trade books has increased over the last few years, with her major interest still being how children learn history. Monica has published several articles on the topic and is active on a number of children's literature Listservs. She is currently serving on ALA's 2008 Newbery Committee and completing her term as the chair of NCTE's 2007 Notable Children's Books in the Language Arts Committee.

She has received several awards for her blogging including IRA's Miss Rumphius Award for "...your impressive ideas for how to use a weblog to support classroom literacy at your Edinger House blog site."
