Paula Moore
Paula Moore has been a primary grade teacher, literacy specialist, middle school teacher, and administrator in public schools for twenty years. She completed a year-long training in New Zealand as a University Reading Recovery Trainer and currently directs the Center for Early Literacy at the University of Maine, trains Reading Recovery Teacher Leaders, and coordinates the Reading Recovery program in Maine, where she also develops in-service courses and workshops for teachers in grades pre-K to 6.
Dr. Moore edited the series Little Books for Early Readers, for use in kindergarten and first grade, and a Big Book series for preschools. She also contributed a chapter on choosing nonfiction literature for shared and guided reading for Making Facts Come Alive, a book for classroom teachers about choosing and using nonfiction literature.
