Ross Burkhardt

Ross became a teacher because "I found a profession that challenged me, used all of my skills, put me into daily contact with young people, allowed my creativity to emerge, and made a difference in the world."

He earned his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and his Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His areas of specialty are middle-level education, teaching writing, poetry, and teaming. He likes to create lessons and activities that "engage young adolescents and help them to create memories."

He believes that "professional development is crucial to the development of outstanding teachers." He is a regular presenter at NMSA and NCTE.
